Introduction to BMTC...

Bangalore Transport Company (BTC) was incorporated on January 31, 1940, by the Mysore Government. In 1956, the BTC was nationalized. The company became the Bangalore Transport Service (BTS) after 1962 and remained so until it was renamed the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on August 15, 1997. Today, the Corporation caters to 52 lakh passengers every day, plying over 6,000+ buses with more than 70,000 trips operated with the able assistance of over 34,000 staff.

BMTC has embarked on many initiatives with innovative services like fleet modernisation, state-of-the-art infrastructure, IT implementation, Intelligent Transport System, KIOSKs at bus stations, Inventory Management System, MIS, introducing an award-winning website www.mybmtc.com and many more.
